Bismarck twins Abygail and Madysen Fitterer will be heading back to Minnesota soon for a separation surgery, according to the latest update from the family's Caringbridge Web site. Their parents are Stacy and Suzy Fitterer.
The girls were born conjoined at the abdomen and share a liver. They were born Aug. 8, and their combined weight was 11 pounds, 11 ounces. The family came home around the beginning of September.
A fund is set up at Dakota Community Bank for the care of the girls. Checks can be made out to the Stacy and Suzy Fitterer Twins Fund, c/o Dakota Community Bank, 919 S. Seventh St., Bismarck, N.D. 58504.
A dart tournament Oct. 7 also supports the twins. The Fitterer Twins Benefit is 1 to 5 p.m., with sign-up for the dart tournament at 11 a.m. to noon, at the Burnt Creek Club, 1205 Northstar Drive. Cost of the tournament is $10. Proceeds, including from food sales, will go to the family.
The family provides periodic updates on the twins on the Caringbridge Web site at www.caringbridge.com/visit/abygailandmadysenfitterer or www.caringbridge. org/visit/abygailandmadysenfitterer.
