FARGO (AP) - Game preserve owners in North Dakota have started a campaign against a proposed ballot measure that would ban high-fence hunting.
Opponents of the measure say the proposal would violate their property rights. They say hunting preserves provide healthy animals in a safe environment.
Supporters of the initiated measure say it's unethical to shoot a fenced-in animal.
A state Senate bill that would have prohibited hunters from paying to shoot deer, elk and other big game was overwhelmingly defeated last year.
