A Mandan woman faces two felony charges related to allegations that she dislocated her boyfriend's jaw after finding him in bed with another woman.
Rachelle Stevens, 31, was charged Monday with burglary, a Class Bfelony, and domestic assault, a Class C felony.
South Central District Judge Sonna Anderson set bond for Stevens at $1,500 cash or surety. Anderson prohibited Stevens from having contact with the alleged victim.
Sgt. Dwight Offerman said Stevens has been accused of going into a southwest Bismarck home without permission early Sunday morning. He said she had information that her boyfriend was inside the home with another woman. Stevens allegedly punched her 34-year-old boyfriend in the face several times after finding him in bed with a 20-year-old woman.
A burglary charge means someone is accused of entering a building without permission with the intent to commit a crime.
Officers were called to the home at 1:33 a.m. Sunday. Offerman said the boyfriend, Richard Wilson Jr., was taken to the hospital for a dislocated jaw.
Stevens said in court Monday that Wilson had been living with her at her Mandan apartment.
Bismarck police also investigated a separate aggravated assault report over the weekend. Officers were called to a Bismarck emergency room at 7:20 p.m. Saturday after a doctor had stitched up a wound on a man's head, Offerman said.
He said the doctor felt the man had been hit in the head with brass knuckles. The 25-year-old Bismarck man did not wish to file a police report and was gone before officers arrived, Offerman said. He said the man would have been arrested had he remained at the hospital, because he was wanted on warrants.
The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department is investigating an aggravated assault report, too. Lt. Nick Sevart said a 21-year-old man was taken to the hospital for severe cuts to his head and face at 1:46 a.m. Monday after deputies were called to the 3300 block of University Drive. A 16-year-old boy was arrested for minor in consumption at the home south of Bismarck, but a 19-year-old man who is suspected in the assault was not located.
