Bismarck police are investigating three burglaries that occurred Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Two of the burglaries were to downtown law offices, Lt. Randy Ziegler said.
Someone broke into the Vogel Law Firm, in the US Bank building, and LaRoy Baird Attorneys, 222 N. Fourth St., between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
An office manager at Vogel Law Firm found a file cabinet pried open and a cash box stolen, Ziegler said. He said cash also was stolen from LaRoy Baird Attorneys.
A witness identified a possible suspect, who is on probation, Ziegler said. He said officers and a probation officer questioned the 20-year-old Bismarck man, but found no evidence that he was involved in the burglaries.
However, the man, who was supposed to undergo a drug test per probation conditions, was arrested when police found a vial of urine in his pants during a pat-down search, Ziegler said. Travis Clark Jr. of Lincoln was charged Thursday with attempted fraudulent practices in urine testing, a Class Amisdemeanor. South Central District Judge Bruce Romanick set bond at $2,000 cash or surety.
The burglaries remain under investigation.
Two buildings at Sleepy Hollow Park, at North 26th Street and West Divide Avenue, also were burglarized between 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and noon Wednesday, Ziegler said.
He said someone broke a window to a door on one building and a padlock on another building to gain entry. The burglar stole a 20-inch television, a computer monitor and a "High School Musical" magnet.
That burglary also is under investigation.
