ABismarck man and woman, both 28, and a Fargo man, 50, who allegedly had methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana and paraphernalia in their vehicle when it was stopped by law enforcement Thursday afternoon south of Steele, had a bond hearing Friday.

South Central District Judge Robert O. Wefald ordered that Duard Holcomb, 50, of Fargo, be held without bond until the state's attorney can be confident of what Holcomb's past record is. Holcomb initially said his name was Ernest Wayne Harding, but law enforcement officials later found out it was Holcomb - a man with a criminal record that started in 1974 with crimes in California, Texas and Minnesota, said Cynthia Feland, an assistant state's attorney, at Friday's hearing.

She told Wefald that, under that name, Holcomb's record shows 13 other alias names, five Social Security numbers and four different dates of birth and various convictions for such crimes as possession of counterfeit funds, possession of a stolen vehicle and other cases that the state's attorney's office are still trying to sort out.

Holcomb, who faces two Class A felonies for possession of heroin and methamphetamine with intent to deliver, told the judge his last name of Holcomb should have "Jr." after it, but Feland said her records don't show a "Jr."

Wefald ordered a $15,000 cash or surety bond for the other two - Jason Stenehjem, 28, and Shanna Stewart, 28, who face various drug charges for the Steele vehicle stop as well as for a March 18 search of their home in the 700 block of North Sixth Street during which methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia were found.

For the March 18 incident, both Stenehjem and Stewart have been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a Class B felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Class C felony; possession of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony; and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. Stenehjem alone was charged with possession of oxycodone, a Class C felony.

For the Thursday vehicle stop with Holcomb in the car, both Stenehjem and Stewart are charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, a Class A felony; possession of methamphetamine drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony; and marijuana drug paraphernalia with intent to use, a Class A misdemeanor. Stenehjem alone was charged with possession marijuana by a driver, a Class A misdemeanor. And Stewart has been charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

Bismarck Police Lt. Dan Donlin said Friday that law enforcement personnel statewide were alerted recently to be on the lookout for the three, as it was possible they might be traveling from Fargo with drugs.

Thursday afternoon, a North Dakota State Highway Patrol trooper spotted Stenehjem's 2003 Ford Mustang and the vehicle was stopped south of Steele at Mile Marker 591/2, Donlin said. A canine was used and drugs were found, he said.

Donlin said the 3 to 4 ounces of methamphetamine found has a street value of $6,000, and the 3 to 5 grams of heroin has a street value of $500.
