Corps to stop in Bismarck April 17

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a series of six public meetings next month to review its 2008 Annual Operating Plan for the Missouri River system.

Bismarck is one of the stops. That meeting will be held at noon April 17 at the Doublewood Inn.

Corps officials will give presentations on its winter operations, planned operations for the rest of the year, and there will be an opportunity for people to ask questions and make comments.

Here is a schedule for the meetings:

n Jefferson City, Mo. - 1 p.m., April 15, Capitol Plaza Hotel.

n Kansas City, Mo. - 6 p.m., April 15, Embassy Suites KCI.

n Nebraska City, Neb. - 11 a.m., April 16, Lewis & Clark Center.

n Fort Peck, Mont. - 7 p.m., April 16, Fort Peck Interpretative Center.

n Bismarck - noon, April 17, Doublewood Inn.

n Pierre, S.D. - 6 p.m., April 17, Best Western Ramkota Hotel.
