A Bismarck woman faces forgery and prostitution charges after allegedly accepting money to have sex with a man, then forging his signature on checks.

Jolene Trefon, 21, was charged Monday with Class Cfelony forgery and Class B misdemeanor prostitution.

South Central District Judge Sonna Anderson set bond for Trefon at $3,000 cash.

Bismarck Police Sgt. Dwight Offerman said officers were called to a credit union in Bismarck at 1:05 p.m. Friday where Trefon allegedly was trying to cash checks on the account of Kyle Sparrow, 26. Sparrow said he only wrote one of the checks, Offerman said.

Sparrow said he paid Trefon $300 to have sex with him, Offerman said. He said $1,400 in checks on Sparrow's account appear to have been forged.

Trefon, who is under a full guardianship through Catholic Charities of North Dakota, and Sparrow met as participants in an organization for people with intellectual disabilities, Offerman said.
