Medora - Badlands Ministries will hold its 27th annual Fall Event starting with 11 a.m. worship Sept. 16 at the Medora Community Center. The event raises funds for the Badlands Ministries Camp south of Medora and includes a noon chicken barbecue and afternoon quilt auction. Lefse, baked goods and crafts will also be sold.

Bowman - The 25th annual Yesterday's Farmers Threshing Bee will be held Saturday and Sunday at the west edge of Bowman. Events will include a 10 a.m. tractor parade Saturday, followed by a tractor pull at 1 p.m. Other events are a farm equipment exhibition, flea market, swap meet and farmers produce market. The threshing bee will continue Sunday. Lunch will be served on the grounds.

Golden Valley County - The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever killed three antelope and seven mule deer and left their carcasses to rot in an area north of Beach and Medora over the past two weeks. Kidder County - A plan to reorganize schools in Kidder County into a countywide district will be heard by the State Board of Public Instruction on Sept. 30, followed by a local reorganization election in November. Anyone in the county who has questions about the reorganization plan is asked to contact local school board members from Pettibone, Steele, Tappen and Tuttle.

Hazen - Hazen will welcome fall with a quilt show opening at noon Friday at the city hall, along with a soup-and-sandwich fundraiser at English Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturday, the Prairie Rose Car Club will have a car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the All Seasons Arena, followed by the Johnny Holm Band in concert at 9 p.m.

Hebron - Hebron's 80th annual Fall Festival will be held Friday through Sunday in Hebron, starting with a community picnic from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the City Park Shelter. The menu will be barbecue beef, beans and potato salad. On Saturday, there's a quilt show, craft fair and games in the afternoon, ending with a 4:30 p.m. zucchini shoot west of Hebron. Sunday will feature the second annual Cancer Roping starting at 11 a.m. at the Broken Arrow Saddle Club rodeo grounds.
