A local couple rented the Mandan High School auditorium in 2006, hoping people would show up to see local old-time musicians whom the couple didn't think had enough opportunities to play in front of audiences.
People showed.
That first event, a night of old cowboy songs, gospel and blues, yodeling and train songs, was a sellout, so it has become an annual event.
LeAna Hug's and Tom Hug's third annual From the Prairie to the Bunkhouse event, two concerts, at 2:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, will again feature singers and guitarists Paul and Lowell Larsen, Taylor ranchers and brothers in their 60s, and Kelly Kiemele and banjo player Les Vaagen, of the Bismarck-Mandan area.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
