Three juveniles threw a safe into the Missouri River near the boat ramp at 2650 Riverwood Drive, said a Bismarck man who witnessed it and reported it to police at 2 p.m. Friday.
The juveniles drove off. A descripion of the car hasn't been released.
Police recovered the badly damaged safe, which was found floating on the river, according to a Bismarck police report.
Police plan to X-ray the safe to try to determine what's inside.
At this point, it's not known if the safe was stolen. A teletype has been sent to other law enforcement agencies to notify them of the safe's discovery.
