The Bismarck Tribune welcomes Crystal Reid as the new business reporter.

Reid graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in communication/news editing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Her senior year in college, Reid worked part-time at the Associated Press in Omaha, updating and rewriting articles for Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

She was also editor in chief for UNO's student newspaper, the Gateway, which won top Nebraska Press Association awards in almost every category under her leadership.

Reid also wrote for several Omaha publications, including a style/business column for a weekly paper, the Reader.

Her final year in college, Reid played intramural tennis and became the school intramural tennis champion.

During a two-year break from college, Reid dipped into the business world as a human resources manager for a large men's and women's clothing store in Omaha.
