Mandan police are investigating a fire that appears to have been intentionally set.
The fire was reported at 5:10 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Jay Gruebele said.
He said the home at 707 Poplar St. was destroyed in the fire, which appears to have been started by a lighter.
The man who lived in the home, Travis Nagel, was seen leaving the area shortly before the fire broke out, Gruebele said.
Nagel, 42, was charged Tuesday with Class B felony arson. Police say he has been hospitalized.
