For many Bismarck residents, the For Your Entertainment outlet in the Kirkwood Mall is the place to go for music. It has been known to carry a wide selection and what they don't have, they'll order in. But all that is set to change. FYE is pulling out of North Dakota.

According to John Sullivan from the public relations department of Trans World Entertainment, FYE's parent company, the leases for the FYE outlets in Grand Forks and Bismarck are expiring in January. Since these are the only two FYE outlets in North Dakota, they decided not to renew the leases.

While FYE's employees aren't allowed to comment on the store's closing, their customers aren't very happy about it. A customer petition has been started in an attempt to keep the store open and some customers have complained to Trans World through FYE's Web site, www.fye.com.

Brain Taylor, who has been shopping at FYEfor five years, says "It really stinks," of the upcoming closing. Taylor has signed the petition and e-mailed the Web site.

FYE is one of few stores left in Bismarck that specializes in music. Its last day is Jan. 22 and the story has stopped accommodating special orders and reserved copies.
