Sheriff's deputy arrests 15

A sheriff's deputy arrested 15 people for minor in consumption after seeing some of them hustle into a home during a traffic stop.

Burleigh County Sheriff's Lt. Nick Sevart said a deputy made a traffic stop for driving under the influence in south Bismarck at 1 a.m. Saturday. The stop was conducted in a driveway, he said.

While conducting the traffic stop, the deputy noticed a number of people scrambling to get inside the home at the end of the driveway, Sevart said.

The deputy went up to the house, and the person who lived there admitted that a large number of minors were drinking there, Sevart said.

He said nine 20-year-olds, four 19-year-olds and two 18- year-olds were arrested for minor in consumption.

The person who was having the party was one of the 20- year-olds, and her parents were not home, Sevart said.
