A 15-year-old boy has been put in the custody of the Youth Correctional Center for allegedly threatening two older teens with a knife.
Bismarck Police Lt. Dan Donlin said a 19-year-old Bismarck man called police around 10 p.m. Wednesday to report that he and an 18-year-old man had been threatened by a boy.
The two older teens said they had been playing basketball in the playground at Riverside Elementary, 406 S. Anderson St., when the boy approached, pulled a knife on them and threatened to kill them if they called police, Donlin said.
He said another 18-year-old man riding his bike by the playground witnessed the incident and corroborated the alleged victims' story.
The two older teens backed off from the boy and called police from a cell phone, Donlin said.
The victims said they recognized the boy as living in the same apartment building as them, and police were able to locate the suspect, Donlin said. He said officers also recovered several large kitchen knifes.
The 15-year-old Bismarck boy received a juvenile citation for terrorizing and was placed in the custody of the Youth Correctional Center, Donlin said.
The boy's case will be handled in juvenile court, where files and hearings are closed to the public.
