Masterpieces 'come to life' on Sept. 13

Some of the world's most famous images will come to life during Dakota Stage's first "Living Masterpieces" black tie event Saturday at the High Prairie Arts and Science Complex.

Local actors, background artists, costumers and makeup artists will bring 20 famous works of art to three-dimensional life in a program that will benefit Dakota Stage Ltd. and the Shade Tree Players.

The event, called "Art that Breathes," runs from 7 to 9 p.m. An art exhibit, raffle, silent auction, dessert bar and local celebrity curators will be part of the program.

A sneak peek, featuring eight of the 20 masterpieces, is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday for $10 per person, $5 for students and children and $20 for families.

The black tie event on Saturday, with all 20 pieces, is $35 per person, with a limited availability of discounts for groups of eight or more.
