A medical benefit for Chance Simons, 10-month-old son of Ben and Tracie Simons of South Heart, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. MST Feb. 8 at St. Anthony's Club, 105 First Ave. S.E., Dickinson.
Chance was diagnosed with Hurler's syndrome and will undergo a bone marrow transplant at the University of Minnesota Hospital at the end of February with his brother, Abe, age 7, as the donor. The family will relocate to the Minneapolis Ronald McDonald House for three months.
The benefit is a free will donation spaghetti dinner. Live music will be provided by the group Changing Lives of Fargo. A silent auction also will be held.
Checks may be made payable to the Chance Simons Benefit Account and mailed to Dakota Community Bank, Box 210, Dickinson, ND, 58602.
