Hettinger - Annie's Project, a program to educate and empower farm and ranch women, will be held in Hettinger Wednesdays from Jan. 23 through Feb. 27. The classes will be held from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hettinger Research Extension Center.

Medora - Medora will hold its 12th annual Old Fashioned Cowboy Christmas on Friday and Saturday in Medora, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday with local cowboys and cowgirls riding through the streets, followed by a jamboree at 7 p.m. at the Medora Community Center. Other events are hay rides, "eats on the streets," local poetry and music and a Christmas dance at 8 p.m. Saturday, followed by a fireworks show.

Bowman - The Bowman Dollars for Scholars Christmas tour of Homes will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, starting from Bowman City Hall, where lunch will be served from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

BURLEIGH
WING - The Wing Santa Claus Day and Wing Merchants Appreciation Day will be Dec. 8. Merchants will be providing a free soup and sandwich meal from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Wing school lunchroom.

Marshall - The Dunn County Public Health nurse will administer flu shots from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Marshall Lutheran Church in Marshall. Pneumococcal vaccine also will be available.
Also, Quintana Biffert, of Halliday, will hold a CD release party and open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Halliday school multipurpose room. Biffert will perform selections from her CD "Dreams," recorded in Nashville, Tenn., in June.

Ashley - The Ashley fire chief says anyone planning a controlled burn to control weeds or other vegetative matter should first call 800-472-2121. A burn ban for the area could be put into effect otherwise.
Also, the McIntosh County Farmers Union will hold its convention at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ashley Senior Center. Pam Musland is guest speaker and annual leadership awards will be presented.

Beulah - A Smithsonian exhibit "Between Fences," will open at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Beulah City Hall and remain on public display through Jan. 18. In addition, local artists' fences, each a canvas of personal expression, will be displayed starting Dec. 11 at the Solem building in downtown Beulah. The traveling Smithsonian exhibit is a project of the North Dakota Humanities Council.
