EMMONS
Emmons County -Members of South Central Grain Cooperative, with elevators at Napoleon, Kintyre, Hazelton and Wishek will vote Oct. 24 on whether to merge with Cenex Harvest States Inc. The two entities already have a joint venture to operate the shuttle train loading facility at Sterling. Mail ballots are out and must be returned by 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Napoleon Legion Hall, where questions will be answered and ballots tallied at 8 p.m. People who did $500 or more in business with the co-op in 1998 are eligible to vote.

Beach - The annual meeting of the Golden Valley Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Golden Valley County Museum in Beach. Members whose dues are current will be eligible to vote at the meeting.
