A man found near Kintyre early this week after failing to return home from a visit in Hague is in good condition.
John Miller, 76, left his sister's home in Hague at around 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 23. His wife, Agnes, expected him home at 9:30 p.m. that night and reported him missing the following morning, when he had not returned.
His expected route home was to go north on Highway 83, then west to Bismarck on old Highway 10. Police received several reported sightings of Miller along Highway 83, Highway 1804 and Highway 13 from Aug. 23, and they were able to confirm he was at the Hazelton Cenex that night. They believe he may have been there again the next day, though the station was closed.
The state Civil Air Patrol and area law enforcement searched for Miller but could not locate him. He was found Monday in a pasture near Kintyre by Andrew, Cora and Jacob Bornemann, who were checking wells and fences in the pasture.
Miller was taken by ambulance to St. Alexius after he was found.
Jamie Olson, a spokesperson for the hospital, said Miller is in good condition. She said that means his vital signs are stable and within normal limits, he is conscious and comfortable, and it appears he will be OK.
She could not release information regarding what kinds of medical problems Miller had.
