Bismarck police have released names and addresses of three convicted sex offenders who have moved in the city.
Colin J. Hall, also known as Colin Reed, is now living at 317 N. 12th Street. Hall, 20, was recently released from the Burleigh County Detention Center, according to a release from the police department. He had been in custody since Jan. 5 on a probation violation.
Hall, who is considered a high-risk offender, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on May 22, 2006, to abusive sexual contact. Hall was charged after he and three other men raped a semi-conscious 16-year-old girl in a camper and physically abused her, according to the police release. One of the males videotaped the acts, the release said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Volk, who prosecuted the case against Hall, said Hall originally was charged with felony abusive sexual contact but pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge. Hall, who was considered a "very minor contributor" to the attack on the girl, received probation, Volk said.
Garron W. Gonzalez, a moderate-risk offender, is now living at 1124 Summit Boulevard, Apt. 3.
According to a news release from the Bismarck Police Department, Gonzalez pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition in April 2004 after an investigation revealed he was involved in a sexual act with a 14-year-old girl.
Gonzalez also pleaded guilty in January 2005 to failure to register as a sexual offender, the release said.
Gonzalez recently moved to his new home from 212 E. Main Ave. Apt. 3 in Bismarck.
Michael Demery, a moderate-risk offender, is now living at 315 W. Indiana Ave.
Demery, 22, was convicted in U.S. District Court in 2005 of sexual abuse of a minor for committing a sexual act with a 12-year-old girl, according to a release from the Bismarck Police Department.
Lt. Dan Donlin said Demery was released to Centre Inc., 315 W. Indiana Ave., in November 2006. He appeared at one head count at the transition center and wasn't seen again, Donlin said. He said Demery was arrested later and returned to a federal prison. Demery was recently released from a federal prison in Atlanta, and has returned to Centre Inc.
Police say all three offenders have served the sentences and are not wanted by law enforcement. The information released is for safety reasons only, the releases said.
