Medora - The Billings County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the courthouse in Medora and conduct a public hearing on an application to construct a retail and museum building near the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation amphitheater. The project will be subject to formal action at the Billings County Commission meeting May 2.

Strasburg - The 2006 Emmons County Working Women's Banquet, for women who work in and outside the home, will be held starting with a 6 p.m. social hour Friday at the Strasburg Blue Room. The night will include a meal of roast pork, fried rice and pineapple upside-down cake, prizes and entertainment. The cost is $10 and tickets are available at local businesses.

Beach - A workshop to talk about the care and pruning of trees damaged in the October 2005 blizzard will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the La Playa restaurant meeting room in Beach. Joel Nichols, an assistant community forester with the North Dakota Forest Service, will make the presentation. Also, Beach High School seniors invite "golden" graduates from the class of 1956 who hail from Beach, Golva and Sentinel Butte high schools to join them for their graduation ceremony at 2 p.m. May 21 in the Beach High School gym. Regent - The annual spring concert by Mott and Regent students kindergarten through eighth grade will be held at 7 tonight at the Regent school gym. A display of art will be set up in the science room. The public is invited.
Mott - Mott is on some globes, giving townsfolk even more of a reason to be visionaries. A vision meeting to expand the community horizons will be held at 7 p.m. May 8 at the Eido Printing shop in Mott.

Steele - The World's Largest Sandhill Crane Foundation at Steele will sponsor a spring migration birding safari Saturday and Sunday in the Long Lake, Dawson and Horsehead Lake area, all prime locations for a number of bird species. McLaughlin, S.D. - The Corson County Commission, the city of McLaughlin and the state of South Dakota will hold at hearing at 1 p.m. May 2 at the McLaughlin City Hall to determine whether the county and city should establish a Corson-McLaughlin Regional Railroad Authority.
