The corner of Fourth and Broadway is typically a pretty quiet area, but for the next six Thursdays this area will be filled with art, food and music. The event has become a yearly Bismarck staple, and is known as Urban Harvest.

"This is our fourth year, so we are kind of hitting our stride," Ramona Redding Lopez, Urban Harvest director, said. "Every year has gotten bigger and better, and this year is going to be even bigger and better."

The Capital Farmer's Market and Urban Harvest market will be open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kids hour will begin at 10 a.m. as well and will include yoga. Adults have their own yoga time at noon.

At 4:30 p.m., a tai chi class will begin. At 5 p.m. there will be a drum circle for anyone who wants to bring their drum and play. Other activities include a chance to do pottery with help from Bismarck State College teachers and students.

The Sleepy Hollow Summer Theatre also will perform at Urban Harvest. At 4 p.m. July 10, Sleepy Hollow will perform scenes from "High School Musical," and at 1 p.m. July 24, they will perform scenes from "Les Miserables."

"Shade Tree Players is performing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' the whole entire show," Redding Lopez said. "We have never had a whole show before so that will be exciting."

That show will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 7.

Each Thursday also will have a musical lineup. At noon, an acoustic solo performer will have the stage. There also will be different bands performing at 6 and 8 p.m.

"We have a good lineup this year," Redding Lopez said.

Some of that lineup includes Richard Torrance, GypsyFoot, FatDad, The Levee and many other local favorites from all different music genres.

Redding Lopez said that they have music from all different genres in order to please everyone's tastes.

It is new this year for them to have a polka band, Jim Geiger Band, but they added it to the lineup to appeal to the large polka scene in Bismarck.
