Three Mandan men arrested in a less than 12-hour span for separate serious crimes made their first appearances in front of a judge on Thursday.

From 9:42 p.m. Tuesday to 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, Mandan police dealt with a burglary, an armed robbery and a stabbing. Suspects were arrested in all three cases.

James Belohlavek, Erik Bobbins and Shahin Bin Mohiuddin made their first appearances at the Morton County Courthouse Thursday morning.

n At 9:42 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an alarm call at Cenex, 810 E. Main St., and found two people inside the business. Property taken was recovered, and two Mandan teens were arrested. A17-year-old boy was taken to the Youth Correctional Center, and Belohlavek was taken to the Morton County Correctional Center.

Belohlavek, a high school student who turned 18 several weeks ago, was charged Thursday with Class C felony burglary and Class Bmisdemeanor theft of property.

South Central District Judge Bruce Romanick set bond for him at $1,500 cash or surety.

n At 3:06 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the Ridge Motel, 2630 Old Red Trail NW, for a report of an armed robbery. The desk clerk said a man wearing some type of mask demanded money from the register and threatened to use a weapon. An undetermined amount of cash was taken.

Bobbins, 20, was seen leaving his motel room while police searched the area. Detectives interviewed him and he was arrested. Police believe they have recovered a weapon used in the robbery and some of the money.

Morton County Assistant State's Attorney Jackson Lofgren said the recovered gun was a pellet gun pistol.

Bobbins, of McClusky, was charged with robbery, a Class B felony. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of four years in prison due to allegations of a weapon being used in commission of the crime.

Romanick set bond for Bobbins at $50,000 cash or surety.

n At 7:18 a.m. Wednesday, Mandan police responded to a Bismarck hospital for a report of a stabbing. Information gathered there led them to Mohiuddin, 27. The victim and Mohiuddin apparently were acquaintances who had engaged in a "mutually combative situation," a release from the Mandan Police Department said. The victim was stabbed in the abdomen and needed surgery. Drug paraphernalia was found in a search.

Lofgren said a steak knife was used in the stabbing.

Mohiuddin was charged with Class Cfelony reckless endangerment and Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Romanick set bond for Mohiuddin at $50,000 cash or surety.
