Carson The Grant County Fair will be held Thursday through Sunday at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Carson. The fair includes 4-H exhibits and judging and a parade at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a mini carnival, food and a rodeo Calcutta at 3 p.m. Saturday's events conclude with a 9 p.m. street dance.

Regent The Regent City Council will meet at 8:30 tonight at the Regent City Hall to hear public input on a proposed public nuisance ordinance. Copies of the ordinance are on file at the city hall.

Kidder County The school boards of Pettibone, Steele-Dawson, Tappen and Tuttle have prepared a draft reorganization plan creating one county school district. Public meetings on the plan will be held at 8 p.m. the days of Aug. 20 at the Pettibone school, Aug. 21 at the Tappen school, Aug. 22 at the Tuttle school and Aug. 23 at the Steele-Dawson school. Residents can attend any and all meetings. The plan includes two high schools and two elementary schools in the county, located in Tappen and Steele-Dawson.
