Crops day being held Thursday

Sawfly control, impacts of farming and ranching on pheasant production and crop production research results will be the featured topics at the 24th annual Western Dakota Crops Day Show being held at the Hettinger Armory beginning at 9 a.m. MST Thursday.

David Weaver, research entomologist at Montana State University, will give a presentation on developing integrated pest management strategies for controlling wheat stem sawfly.

Agronomists from the North Dakota State University Hettinger and Dickinson Research Extension Centers also will give presentations on the some of their crop production research, including fertilizer, herbicide and variety trials.
