FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Two men convicted of attempting to murder another man in his Fargo apartment will be going to prison for at least a decade.
Thomas Rivet of Fargo and Louis Lugert of West Fargo were sentenced for their roles in trying to kill 26-year-old William Bluedog while trying to subdue him during a robbery in February.
Bluedog told police he was choked, kicked, stabbed and tied up by the two men. Court documents said Bluedog was stabbed nine times.
The 26-year-old Rivet said he stabbed Bluedog in self-defense. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison on attempted murder and robbery charges.
The 25-year-old Lugert apologized in court and asked for leniency. He was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison on a charge of being an accomplice.
