Bismarck is seeking input about its electronic sign ordinance during a public input meeting set from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Tom Baker Room of the City/County Building.
The meeting will consist of an open house format, with staff available to answer questions and provide additional information about the ordinance.
There will be a brief presentation on the content of the ordinance at 2:30 p.m.
According to City Planning Manager Kim Lee, although there are many electronic signs within Bismarck, the city does not have an ordinance that addresses the location, size or operation of these types of signs.
In July, the Bismarck City Commission placed a moratorium on all new electronic moving image signs and digital billboards for six months, in order to allow adequate time to develop the new sign ordinance.
Lee said the city staff has been working with representatives from the sign industry on the ordinance's development.
