Hettinger - A free community breakfast in honor of the retirement of Dr. Robert Grossman will be served at 7 a.m. June 20 in the Hettinger hospital dining room. A retirement farewell picnic for Grossman will be held at 5 p.m. June 30 at the Mott City Hall.

Medora - The 31st annual Medora Car Show will open at 10 a.m. June 21 in Medora, and anyone who wants to participate can call 483-2008 or 225-8851. A highlight of the show will be a 1903 Haase, the only one remaining of 15 originally built. The show is sponsored by Dakota Western Auto Club of Dickinson.

Bowman - The fifth annual Garden Tour will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. June 26. The event will include a gardening presentation at 4:30 and 7 p.m. a Bowman Lutheran Church, along with a light supper. Tickets are available at Dakota Western Bank, and proceeds will go toward Dakota Prairie Helping Hands.

Reeder - The Reeder Centennial and all-school reunion will be held June 21, starting with a 7 a.m. breakfast, free noon meal and a 4 p.m. variety show.

Halliday - An adult welding program for anyone older than 18 will be held from June 23 to Aug. 11 at the Halliday Public School welding shop. The program offers financial assistance, individually paced instruction and state-of-the-art equipment. For information, call 983-4391 or 983-4584.

Linton - The Nokota Horse Conservancy will hold its 10th annual meeting in Linton on Saturday. A street dance will be held Friday night, and the fourth annual Father's Day Breakfast and Art in the Park will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at Seeman Park, with wagon rides available.

Hague - The Hague Centennial Committee will hold an antique tractor trek from Zeeland to Hague July 5. A fee of $10 includes a 6 a.m. breakfast. Register by calling 423-5490 by June 30.

Mott - The Mott Gallery will sponsor class movie nights starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Playhouse Theater in Mott. The first movie is "Casablanca." Seats are $4, and proceeds will go toward the gallery annex building fund, while concession proceeds go toward theater upkeep and maintenance. The movie nights will continue in July and August.

Steele - BEK Communications Cooperative will hold its 56th annual meeting starting with a free supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Steele-Dawson school in Steele. The Central Dakota Children's Choir will perform, and the annual meeting will be convened at 7 p.m.

Napoleon - Residents will vote Tuesday on whether to amend Napoleon's Home Rule charter to allow a 1 cent sales tax to pay for a water and sewer project in the community. In addition, Logan County voters will determine the outcome of a 10-mill levy to go toward a rural ambulance district between Gackle and Napoleon.

Watford City - The mammogram truck will be in Watford City on Tuesday and anyone who wants an appointment can call Lona at the McKenzie County Clinic, 842-3771. Also, the Watford City Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual steak fry and golf scramble starting at 5 p.m., with the dinner at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the golf course. Center - The Village Gallery 30th annual art show and craft fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Center Civic Center. The show will include woodturning, china painting and other demonstrations, door prizes, entertainment and lunch. A silent auction will benefit the House of Manna. Oliver County will celebrate Old Settler's Days on Friday through Sunday.
