An owl found at the Missouri Valley Fairgrounds has an injured talon and an injured wing but should recover.
Rod Fried, assistant director at Dakota Zoo, said the owl is doing OK, and zookeepers are working to get him eating on his own.
Bismarck Police Sgt. Dwight Offerman said someone found the owl at the Missouri Valley Fairgrounds at 3 p.m. Saturday and thought its wing had been shot off.
The person captured the owl and called police, Offerman said.
The owl was taken to the zoo. Fried said his injuries do not appear life-threatening.
He said he does not know whether the owl's wing was shot.
The animal will be evaluated by a veterinarian, he said.
