Someone may be out a lot of pennies - 410 pounds of them, actually - after a bad eBay transaction.
A Michigan man reported he sold $2,532 worth of wheat pennies on eBay to someone in Bismarck, Lt. Randy Ziegler said. He said the man sent the pennies, which weighed 410 pounds, to a Bismarck address, but never received payment for them.
The pennies were shipped by the U.S. Postal Service in 12 boxes, Ziegler said.
Wheat pennies, which feature two wheat stalks on the side of the penny opposite Abraham Lincoln's head, were minted from 1909 to 1958. Though they vary in value, many are worth more than one cent.
The case is under investigation.
