Bismarck police are investigating a domestic assault in which a woman is accused of cutting her boyfriend with a box cutter.

Lt. Randy Ziegler said officers were called to a southwest Bismarck home at 7:27 p.m. Monday for a domestic dispute. Witnesses told officers a 39-year-old woman, armed with a box cutter, had been arguing with her 42-year-old boyfriend.

The man tried to block the knife when the woman went toward him with it, and he was cut on the hand, Ziegler said.

He said the woman was not on the scene when officers arrived, and she was not located by police.

Officers are investigating the incident.
