A North Dakota trade mission to South Korea opened several business ties and opportunities, which are already producing results, said Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple.

Dalrymple met with Hanjin Shipping, which agreed to secure more shipping containers for the region. Meetings with Doosan, a South Korean company that recently purchased North Dakota-based Bobcat, indicated a strong commitment to the state.

"Overall, our impression is that Doosan remains very positive relative to their relationship to Bobcat and North Dakota,"Dalrymple said.

"The company appears committed to growing its business and ensuring that Bobcat feels like an integral part of the Doosan family."

Cloverdale Foods in Mandan secured a distributor for its hot dogs and bacon, and expanded business with two South Korean food supply companies.

The delegation, which included representatives fromDickinson State University, producers from around the state and government officials, left for Seoul on March 14 and returned Friday.
