Bismarck police say two moderate-risk, registered sex offenders have moved into the city after being released from the North Dakota State Penitentiary.

Branden Jacob Klein, 25, now lives at 305 S. 14th St., according to a release from the police department.

Klein was convicted in December 2000 of gross sexual imposition in Morton County. He was charged with the crime after an investigation revealed he had consensual sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl when he was 18.

Klein was sentenced to 10 years in prison with two years suspended and four years of supervised probation, according to court documents.

Jerord C. Gillette, 26, now lives at 325 E. Capitol Ave., according to the police release.

Gillette was convicted of gross sexual imposition in December 2004 in Burleigh County. He was charged after it was learned that he had performed sexual acts, including intercourse, on a woman who was unconscious due to alcohol consumption.

Gillette was sentenced to 10 years in prison with nine years and 204 days suspended and credit for 161 days served, and five years of supervised probation, according to court documents. His probation was revoked in 2005, and he was resentenced to 10 years with eight years and 161 days suspended and credit for 171 days served.

Klein and Gillette recently were released from prison, the releases said.

"The information shared with the public is for safety reasons only," the police releases said. "This information is not to be used to threaten, harass, assault or intimidate the registered offenders."
