Change of command ceremony scheduled

Col. Michael R. Aberle will assume command of the North Dakota Army National Guard's 68th Troop Command during a change of command ceremony Sunday.

Aberle will accept the position from Col. James T. Hrdlicka, who will be deploying with North Dakota Army National Guard's upcoming Kosovo mission.

The change of command ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Raymond J. Bohn Armory drill floor, 4200 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck.

In his new position, Aberle will oversee more than 1,200 soldiers in the 136th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 164th Engineer Battalion, 1-112th Aviation Battalion and the separate units of the 68th Troop Command, including the 814th Medical Detachment, 116th Public Affairs Detachment, and 188th Army Band.

Aberle is from Edgeley and graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo.

Hrdlicka is from Colome, S.D., and graduated from the University of Mary, Bismarck.
