A 17-year-old boy fell from a boat and was hit by a propeller Saturday afternoon.
Bismarck Police Lt. Dan Donlin said officers took a report Saturday afternoon at Keel Boat Park Ramp, 1600 River Road, of a boating accident that occurred on the Missouri River by Misty Waters Bay.
Donlin said a boat was pulling a water skier on the river, and the skier fell off. The driver made a sharp turn to go back for the skier, and a 17-year-old boy fell off the boat, he said.
The boy's right arm was seriously injured when it hit the propeller, Donlin said.
He said the incident has been turned over to North Dakota Game and Fish Department, because the Bismarck Police Department does not have jurisdiction on the river.
Bob Timian, Chief Game Warden at NDG&F, said he could not update the boy's condition, citing medical privacy laws. No further information was available on the incident.
"It's still an active investigation," he said.
