A fire destroyed a garage and two cars in Burleigh County on Monday.
Bismarck Rural Fire Capt. Scott Sommers said the Monday afternoon fire at 10701 22nd Ave. SE originally was called in as a vehicle on fire in an attached garage.
The next report firefighters on the way to the house received said the fire had spread to another car, and the garage also was on fire, Sommers said.
He said the fire spread to the kitchen of the home, and the main floor had smoke damage.
Most belongings in the home were salvageable and the resident of the home received help from the Red Cross, Sommers said.
