A program, "Personal Faith and Public Policy: Dialogue with Sen. Byron Dorgan," is planned at 5 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's north campus at 4916 N. Washington St., Bismarck.

Dorgan has agreed to be the first speaker in a series of public officials discussing the role of personal faith in shaping politics.

Questions explored will include:In a nation that places a high value on separation of church and state, what is the role of faith in a person's politics? In a nation that honors freedom and finds strength in a diversity of beliefs, how does and how should faith inform our politics?

Following the presentation, a soup supper and time for discussion is planned. Freewill donations will be accepted.

Sponsor of the program is the Progressive Faith Network.
