Alison Krumm, outreach minister, family and alcohol addiction counselor at Spirit of Life Catholic Church in Mandan, has been instrumental in launching a number of other meaningful programs that have enriched people's experiences.

Krumm is credited with starting the Hope and Healing Support Group, Angel Babies Support Group, marriage enrichment monthly meetings, special organized outreach to the needy at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also works closely with AID Inc. and the Care and Share Program.

Those around her are inspired by how she supports the poor through dignity and encouragement.

"Over the years, she has helped so many people with her counseling skills, encouragement, hope and healing," said Arlene Melarvie, recently retired outreach coordinator for Spirit of Life Catholic Church.

Melarvie said Krumm has taught many what may have seemed a grave disappointment can be a doorway to a blessing to them.

"She is certainly deserving. I've never known a person who has a bigger heart for people in trouble," said Jay Griffin, director of Liturgy and Music at Spirit of Life. "That could be the poor and those struggling with difficult life issues. She treats all the same with amazing grace and joy."
