Feeder calf show scheduled Friday

The Gackle Feeder Calf Show has become the oldest feeder calf show in North Dakota. This year marks its 49th show.

The Gackle Feeder Calf Show will be held Friday. It is held at the Gackle Community Affairs Building on the west side of Gackle. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the judging beginning at 11 a.m.

The judging system will score each individual animal and each pen will receive a conformity score.

The grand champion winners in the bulls, heifers, steers and bred heifers will receive a $50 cash prize and the reserve champions will receive $25. The youth steer grand champion will receive a cash prize of $100 and the reserve champion will receive $50. Youth need to be 18 years of age and younger.

For a complete list of rules and regulations contact Sheldon Gerhardt or Nell Essig at the Logan County Extension Service at 754-2504.

The Gackle Feeder Calf Show is held in conjunction with Gackle Town and Country Day so there will be other activities planned for that day.
