The Bismarck High School varsity Demonettes drill team placed sixth in the nation in high kick last weekend at the Universal Dance Association finals in Orlando, Fla.
Last year, the team placed eighth in that division, and 10th the year before. The Demonettes were only three points behind the fifth place team.
The top five teams in each dance category will be featured this spring on ESPN. The categories include high kick, jazz dance, hip hop and pom.
The public is invited to see the BHS varsity and JV Saturday at the school's Karlgaard Gym starting at 1 p.m. The Demonettes and local Just For Kix showcase will last about an hour.
The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
