Northern Plains archaeologist and author W. Raymond Wood has been chosen as the winner of the 2008 Editor's Award, sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
The award goes to Wood for his article which appeared in North Dakota History, the quarterly journal of the State Historical Society.
The Editor's Award is given annually to the full-length article published in North Dakota History in the preceding year that best exemplifies the highest standards of research, writing and scholarship.
Wood's article, "The North Dakota Artwork of General Regis de Trobriand," describes the general's experiences with the military in what was to become North Dakota, using de Trobriand's diary and artwork.
