FARGO - An attorney accused of pointing a gun at a police officer here has pleaded not guilty.
Robert Merle Light, 43, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to Class C felony charges of reckless endangerment and terrorizing and a Class A misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed firearm or dangerous weapon.
Police found Light parked outside his brother Steven Light's downtown law office, two hours after his brother reported that Light had threatened him.
Light allowed police to search him, but retrieved the gun and said "here it is" when asked for identification. Authorities said Light pointed the loaded and cocked gun less than 2 feet away from an officer's face.
Officers wrestled the gun away from Light and no one was injured in the Dec. 15 incident.
Light has been released on $5,000 bail.
A trial date has not yet been scheduled.
