A Bismarck woman has pleaded not guilty to allegations that she fabricated a story about being kidnapped.

Salli Littledog, 27, pleaded not guilty to Class A misdemeanor false information to law enforcement Tuesday at the Burleigh County Courthouse.

Littledog told police her ex-boyfriend and another man forced her into the trunk of a car on Dec. 30 around 4 p.m. and drove to McLaughlin, S.D.

Littledog said she escaped and walked to a gas station, where she claimed to speak to a police officer. However, McLaughlin police have no recollection of anyone speaking to a woman claiming to have been kidnapped, Bismarck police said.

Littledog said she then hitchhiked to Fort Yates, where her boyfriend picked her up and brought her to Bismarck.

A Bismarck police detective investigating the case noted a number of inconsistencies in Littledog's statements, including wavering on dates and places she was taken.

If convicted, Littledog could face up to one year in prison and fines of up to $2,000. She is slated to appear in court again on April 14.
