BURLEIGH

DRISCOLL - The Driscoll Men's Club will hold its annual Santa Claus Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Driscoll Memorial Hall. Free soup and sandwiches will be served, with Santa arriving at about 12:30 p.m. In conjunction with the event, Grace Lutheran Church of Driscoll will hold its first-ever vendor fair, with 11 vendors selling items and donating a portion of their proceeds to Domestic Disaster Aid.

KILLDEER - The Killdeer Public School junior and senior bands and choirs will perform a winter concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Killdeer school. The performance coincides with the community's Holiday Extravaganza event.

LINTON - The Linton Chamber of Commerce will hold its Town and Country Banquet at 5:30 tonight at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Linton. The night will feature a meatball and ham supper and a variety show by Larry Olson. Local businesses are selling tickets. Also, the Linton Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Light Up the Night holiday celebration with a Parade of Lights starting with lineup at 6 p.m. Friday in downtown Linton. There'll be buggy rides, a Santa visit and a lighting and decorating contest for homes and businesses.

GRANT

ELGIN - The Elgin Economic Development Corp. will sponsor a community Thanksgiving dinner starting at noon Thursday at the Elgin Community Center. Turkey, roast beef and all the trimmings will be served and anyone from the Elgin area is welcome to attend. Also, the New Leipzig American Legion and Auxiliary will hold a turkey night with a roast beef and ham supper at 5 p.m. today at the New Leipzig Community Center. Games will be played afterward.

NEWENGLAND - The New England ambulance service will hold a first responder's class starting in January at the New England fire hall. Anyone who wants information, or to join the class, should contact Tom Zahn at 579-4816.

MOTT - A financial aid meeting for all high school seniors and their parents will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Mott-Regent High School room 201. Sandy Klein will make the interactive television presentation.

KIDDER

DAWSON - A holiday bingo party will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Dawson City Hall, with cash, turkey, ham and other prizes. Proceeds will go toward the community's annual July 3 celebration.

NAPOLEON - A holiday fashion show luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Downtowner banquet room in Napoleon, including a sandwich and salad lunch. The fashion show featuring holiday fashions to wear and for the home will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for lunch and the fashion show and $4 for the fashion show only. For reservations, call 754-2260. Proceeds will go toward this summer's 125th celebration.

WISHEK - A holiday "Tree of Love" will be lit Dec. 10 in front of the Wishek Clinic and Prairieview Hospice is selling lights for a suggested donation of $10 to honor friends and family who have died. Forms for purchasing the lights are available at the Wishek Hospital, clinic, drug store and Stan's Super Valu.

WATFORDCITY - The McKenzie County Ministerial Association will sponsor a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. today at the Glory of the Lord Family Ministries in Watford City. A lunch will be served after the service. Also, a mini-mall of items for sale will be set up at the Good Shepherd Home in Watford City from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7. It's sponsored by McKenzie County Healthcare Systems and everyone is welcome.

WASHBURN - The 2008 Christmas tea will be held at 2 and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Headwaters Fort Mandan visitors center in Washburn, in conjunction with the annual winter quilt show which will run through Dec. 28. The tea, with beverages and treats, will be conducted in two seatings this year and reservations are being taken at 877-462-8535.

BEULAH - The Beulah Chamber of Commerce will be conduct a "drive-by" Christmas lighting contest of Beulah businesses and award $150 in Beulah Bucks for the best effort, $100 for second and $50 for third. The prizes will be awarded at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 2.

RURALSTANTON - St. Paul Lutheran Church invites the public to a Christmas sing-along at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at St. Paul Lutheran Church northwest of Stanton. Coffee and bars will be served afterward.

GLENULLIN - A public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Glen Ullin city office building. The public is invited to help review the performance of the city in carrying out its Community Development Block Grant program, specifically regarding the water line replacement project.

NEWTOWN - The Good Samaritan Society will bake pies in time for Thanksgiving and anyone who wants to place an order should call Marilyn at 627-4711. The pies will be baked Wednesday and flavors are caramel apple, fruit of the forest, French silk, lemon meringue and a no-sugar apple.
