When one thinks about being lost, they probably don't think of it as being a good time. But the Amazing Corn Maize in Mandan has changed the opinions of many.

The Mandan Corn Maize has been around for five years. Those that are up for a challenge and are brave enough to enter go through a 10-acre maze answering nine questions until they find their way out. The maze takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete.

"The corn maze is something fun for the young and old to enjoy," said Lisa Kruckenberg, an employee at the maze. "It's something different and unique."

In past years, the theme of the maze has been things like the U.S.A., aliens and the state quarter. This year's theme is "Lost in Space."

The Corn Maize is open from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Weekdays are available by appointment. The cost is $9 for adults, $7 for ages 7-12 and free for children 6 and under. It is located on the left-hand side off Highway 1806 and is the fifth approach after 19th Street.

The maze will be open until Oct. 26. For more information, call 471-3318.
