Another 351 cases of influenza have been reported in North Dakota.
The cases bring the flu season tally to 869 reports. The reports are current through Feb. 24. The North Dakota Department of Health tracks influenza reports as part of its influenza surveillance.
Most of the cases of flu are in people 19 and younger, with 574 cases.
"It goes to show vaccination is beneficial for these ages," surveillance coordinator Michelle Feist said.
The flu is spread statewide, with 41 of 53 counties reporting activity. Cass county has the most reported cases with 161 reports. Burleigh County has 64 reports and Morton County has 43 reports.
Reports this flu season are tracking ahead of this time last year. There were 243 last year. The state peaked the week of March 18, with more than 2,100 cases.
The state won't know when it has hit the peak of the flu season until numbers start declining, Feist said.
People can still get vaccinated and take other measures to prevent the flu, including covering their cough and washing hands often.
