ELLENDALE - Dickey Rural Networks will be sponsoring a 5K walk and 5K run called the 2008 March for Memories in remembrance of past employees Mark Scallon and Margaret Barton.

All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The walk and run will take place in Ellendale on July 12 inside the fairgrounds during the Dickey County Fair. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start for the race at 8 a.m. A one-mile fun walk also will be held for those who prefer to walk, but still wish to show support.

The entry fee for adults is $15 and children 12 and under is $10.

Registration and entry fees can be dropped off or mailed to Dickey Rural Networks, March for Memories, P.O. Box 69, Ellendale, N.D. 58436. Registration is wanted by June 26; however, entries will be accepted up to race time.
