Bismarck police handled three aggravated assaults over the weekend, including two that involved knives.

Three people have been charged with Class Cfelony aggravated assault in the unrelated incidents.

Bismarck Police Officer Pat Renz said officers responded to St. Alexius, where an assault victim was being treated, at 1:07 a.m. Saturday. A 23-year-old Bismarck man had been hit in the jaw at Lucky's Bar, 2176 E. Thayer Ave. at around 1 a.m.

Steven Cortina, 33, was charged with aggravated assault Monday in that incident.

South Central District Judge Bruce Haskell set bond for Cortina at $2,000 cash. Haskell and Burleigh County Assistant State's Attorney Ty Turner said Cortina has convictions for simple assault and criminal conspiracy-kidnapping.

The next assault occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday, Renz said. Officers responded to the 200 block of North 20th Street for a report of a stabbing, Renz said.

He said a 39-year-old man had been stabbed in the arm during an argument. He was treated and released from a Bismarck hospital, Renz said.

Irene Bull Bear, 43, was charged Monday with aggravated assault.

Haskell set bond for Bull Bear at $2,000 cash. Turner recommended a $1,500 cash bond based on Bull Bear's criminal history.

The third serious assault in the weekend occurred at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Renz said.

A 24-year-old Bismarck woman had been stabbed in the abdomen during a dispute with a 25-year-old woman who lives in the same home as her, Renz said.

He said the 24-year-old woman told officers Jenilee Silk, 25, had trashed their apartment in the 3100 block of East Rosser Avenue. The woman said Silk threatened to stab her. The woman reported that she didn't think Silk would stab her, so she raised her arms and told her to do it, Renz said.

He said the 24-year-old woman was treated and released for the knife wound.

Silk was charged Monday with aggravated assault and criminal mischief. The second charge is for damaged property, Haskell explained in court.

Haskell set bond for Silk at $2,000 cash.
