GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - University of North Dakota space buffs are hoping their "AgCam" can finally make it into space this fall.
The student-made camera is scheduled to blast off with the shuttle Endeavour in November. Once aboard the International Space Station, the camera will send back high resolution pictures and information that can be used by farmers and scientists.
George Seielstad is the director of the Northern Great Plains Center for People and the Environment at UND. He says the camera already is at the Kennedy Space Station in Florida.
Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., says the Senate Appropriations committee has approved $3 million to create a command center at UND to operate the AgCam.
